Matching the topic underneath – A Homely Face.

I ‘m sure everyone remembers the ground breaking photo exhibiton “Earth from Above” which was showcased in every major city in the world a few years back.
Breathtaking large scale images shot by Yann Arthus Bertrand from a bird’s eye perspective showed you our planet in an unforgettable way – but also taught you a lot about how humans are affecting every form of life – mostly in a busting-it-all-up sort of way.
Now Bertrand followed up this project with a jawdropping movie called Home. Filmed in the same style – accompanied by a beautiful angelic soundtrack and narrated by a captivating voice it tells the story of our beloved Earth and how mankind is about to destroy it. This of course is not new to anyone who hasn’t just woken up from a 20 year coma.
But showing our planet in such a fascinating way breaks your heart thinking that we might just kick it all in the bin so soon.
The whole movie is freely available in HD on YouTube. It really brings you home!
Here a few stills i grabbed for you:

These pillars here seem to have inspired someone to pimp them up to become faces. I know they are not proper Faces in Places because of extra the input – but somehow i still find them worthy to put them up here.
I laughed when I saw this sign! Just how bad has your service become, when you need to tell your costumers that something IS actually working?!
“No, really, it’s NOT broken today!”
I m sure that every single person who discovered this sign before me, said exactly the same lame and obvious line. I don’t care! I love the fact there is an Elm Street in my neighbourhood.
I moved into my new neighbourhood in June – it’s the area where Camden, Farringdon and Islington mingle.
I still can’t make my mind up about my surroundings. There is by far too much poshness and cleanliness around. And if you know my photos – then you probably know that’s not really what makes me bend my photo finger.
Clean surfaces are a bit like faces without wrinkles – haven’t lived enough to tell a good story.
So in the future it shall be my task to find the more interesting spots and imperfections – that have more to say than just: I’m beautiful.
Here my first discoveries:
This was one of our many, many, MANY moving boxes. And I m not kidding – the tongue was sticking out completely randomly.
Seriously when I first looked at this paper – I thought they meant Gordon Ramsay and his wife. Could have been a story where he shouted at his child’s first cooking attempt: “This is FU**ING CR*P, you loser! Get out of my bloody kitchen, you tw*t!!!”
What a shocker that would have been! A CELEBRITY parent treating his children badly?!?! What a bad role model for the kids in the country this would have set?!
But then I figured it was about the whole nation being the worst in drinking, smoking and teenage pregnancy. So it’s all too late now anyway, cause all the other “NORMAL” parents fucked them young ones up already.
London Transport?
I filmed this last night at a corporate event of a big mobile phone magazine – it was the most interesting bit about the whole party. Ah, sorry, this AND the magician.
What i found fascinating was the beautiful shapes the particles in the air threw but also the fact that this was not from a smoke machine but the normal air which we were breathing in all night and the light of the projector only made visible here.
